Hyeongseok Na

PhD Student

I am a PhD student in philosophy at Sungkyunkwan University. My research investigates philosophical questions about the mind and artificial intelligence, with a particular focus on consciousness and the possibility of artificial consciousness. I am especially interested in whether artificial systems could possess morally significant forms of consciousness and what moral status such systems might have. More broadly, my work lies at the intersection of philosophy of mind, philosophy of cognitive science (particularly the philosophy of AI), and ethics.

I currently serve as Vice Chair of the Korea Association for Consciousness Sciences and have several years of experience as a teaching assistant in philosophy courses.

Blog

Hello. I am interested in the philosophy of mind, ethics, metaphysics, philosophy of language, epistemology, and the philosophy of AI. This is a place where I share a bit more about what I have learned in school and explored on my own.

I would like to introduce the literature I have engaged with in classes, seminars, and my personal studies. The articles posted here are not intended to infringe copyright but are meant to spread philosophical knowledge, promote intellectual discourse, share information, and showcase my interests.
